Dr Nigel Bradly
Former Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Auckland Central. Nikki brought extensive experience across education, public policy and leadership, alongside a strong connection to marine conservation and Aotearoa’s coastal communities.
Marine policy, blue-economy and impact-investment specialist, and founder of EnviroStrat and Ocean Regeneration Aotearoa. Nigel brings decades of experience across marine restoration, environmental policy, sustainable finance, enterprise development and the blue economy in Aotearoa and internationally.

Principal of Albany Senior High School and an education leader with more than 25 years’ experience. Claire brings extensive expertise in innovative, project-based learning and in creating learning environments that give young people greater agency, real-world experience and meaningful pathways beyond school.
Environmental and natural-resources lawyer and Special Counsel at Russell McVeagh. Kristen brings expertise across environmental legislation, planning and policy, with a strong understanding of the regulatory systems that shape environmental decision-making in Aotearoa.
Entrepreneur and strategic innovation specialist, and co-founder of OneLeap. Hamish brings experience across enterprise, leadership, innovation and international networks, helping connect Blue Nature with broader opportunities across business and entrepreneurship.

Toni Shaw
Ayla leads the day-to-day delivery of Blue Nature’s student programmes and supports young people to develop and progress their Impact Projects. With a background in ecology and marine science and experience working across marine restoration projects through Ocean Regeneration Aotearoa, she connects students with mentors, practical experiences and opportunities across the marine sector.
Education & Programme Lead
Biology teacher at Albany Senior High School and the embedded Blue Nature lead within the programme’s pilot school. Toni supports students throughout their Impact Projects, helping connect project-based learning with curriculum and NCEA opportunities while providing the ongoing educational guidance needed to move ideas from early concepts into practical projects.
